Updated over 2 months ago

The Women’s Health hormone test measures a variety of important hormones that influence reproductive health, metabolism, and overall well-being.

🧪 Estradiol (E2)

The most important form of estrogen, produced by the ovaries. It plays a key role in ovulation, bone health, and vascular health. Estradiol levels drop significantly during menopause.

🧪 Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH)

Produced by the pituitary gland, FSH regulates the maturation of ovarian follicles and the balance of sex hormones.

🧪 Luteinizing Hormone (LH)

The second control hormone of the pituitary gland, LH triggers ovulation by stimulating the release of a mature egg cell.

🧪 Prolactin

A hormone responsible for breast growth and milk production. It is also measured to diagnose potential hormonal imbalances.

🧪 DHEA-S

An androgen hormone produced by the adrenal glands, serving as a precursor to estrogen and testosterone.

🧪 Total Testosterone

Testosterone supports general health, energy levels, and athletic performance in women.

🧪 Free Testosterone

Measured in addition to total testosterone to detect a testosterone deficiency.

🧪 Sex Hormone-Binding Globulin (SHBG)

A protein that binds women sex hormones and regulates their bioavailability in the bloodstream.

🧪 Albumin

A transport protein that carries hormones, vitamins, fatty acids, and amino acids, helping regulate hormone levels.
