Can I exercise before my check-up?

Check whether it's okay to work out before your check-up

Updated over 2 months ago

Yes, you can exercise before your check-up, but with some limitations. Light endurance activities are fine, while intense strength training should be avoided.

Allowed:

  • Light jogging (a few kilometers)

  • Tennis

  • Cycling

  • Other moderate endurance sports

Avoid:

  • Heavy weightlifting

  • High-intensity strength training

  • Extreme endurance activities (e.g., marathon running)

Why?

Heavy workouts can temporarily alter certain blood values (e.g., muscle enzymes, inflammatory markers), which could affect your test results.
